borders book festival

StonehillSalt PR has for the last seven years handled the PR for the Brewin Dolphin Borders Book Festival, which takes place in Melrose in June. The festival attracts some of the biggest names in books and the worlds of politics and entertainment, as well as playing host to one of Scotland’s most prestigious book prizes. Our remit is to handle the launch of the programme two months prior to the book festival, target preview publicity, as well as manning an on onsite press office over the four days of the festival. Publicity across all media includes local, as well as national coverage in Scotland and UK -wide.

Rory Bremner’s Election Battlebus Tour

StonehillSalt PR were brought in to promote comedian Rory Bremner’s 19-date tour, which went to theatres around the country as Britain prepared to vote in the general election. Rory presented a stand-up routine, followed by Q&A with topical guests from the political scene, which gave a fantastic opportunity to place him at the heart of the media pre-election build-up. We worked within his tight schedule to set up a raft of national broadcast interviews on daytime, magazine and news programmes as well as print interviews.

Equally important was to tailor regional interviews to each show, so that Rory could talk about the special guests in each venue. Rory did a total of 56 interviews over 8 weeks, including The One Show, Daily Telegraph, Steve Wright, Newsnight and The Today Programme, and this resulted in a sell-out tour.

Dr John C Taylor and the Corpus Clock

StonehillSalt PR managed the media campaign and inauguration event for an extraordinary new large-scale clock, and its inventor Dr John Taylor. The first Chronophage, created especially for Corpus Christi College Cambridge, was unveiled by Professor Stephen Hawking in September 2008.
